Abstract Background The European Stroke Organisation published guidelines on the management of Transient Ischaemic Attack (TIA) in 2021. Specialist review suspected TIA is recommended within 24-hours symptom onset a clinic. They suggest using CT or MR angiogram for additional confirmation large artery stenosis >50%. advise against use prediction tools alone e.g. ABCD2 score when identifying high-risk patients. Dual antiplatelet therapy short-term high risk, non cardio-embolic This audit evaluates if these are being followed our institution. Methods We evaluated all patients attending clinic and Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU) with over three-week period 2021 single tertiary referral centre. Retrospective data was collected based chart review. Results Twenty underwent eight AMAU chosen time period. One patient (3.5%) seen 24 hours from onset, 2 were 24-36 (7.1%), 4 (14.2%) 36-72 hours, 21 (75%) >72 after onset. In who had doppler US showing >50% carotid stenosis, performed. scores recorded but used combination clinical judgment. All high-risk, non-cardioembolic received early, dual therapy. Conclusion diagnostic methods treatment strategies place keeping recently ESO guidelines. However, there delay to many Further studies indicated identify potential mechanisms behind delays. Interventions ensure that we meeting this ‘time-to-review’ target could be implemented, ensuring quality, evidence-based care.
